Sian is a 2nd Year Drama student and she ran for this role because she believes that Creative Learning is a strong and very important part of what The Student Workshop does and wants to push it to its full potential. She is looking forward to organising workshops and talks with professionals, running the Physical Theatre Ensemble, and researching and promoting events in London and the local area that may be of interest to you.
“As part of my role as Creative Learning Officer, I aim to broaden the spectrum of the opportunities we provide by inviting directors, writers, producers, designers, and techies as well as actors to run a workshop or a Q&A with us. I also want to make sure that the Creative Learning activities are tailored to what you want by taking suggestions from you on who you’d like to see running a workshop in the next term and what sort of skills you’d like to learn. In Summer Term, The Student Workshop has limited space due to MA Season so I’d like to get us involved in off-campus workshops and activities during that time. I will also be working with my PTE Reps, Jay Douglass and Katie Overstall, to strengthen the Physical Theatre Ensemble and help it realise its original goals.”
