Agony Aunts. Hot Air? Talking rubbish? Load of shit? National treasures?
No probably not.
Agony Aunts of the nature familiar in recent years have become a seemingly endless and inevitable source of humour to the point where suspicions are widely held about the authenticity of letters sent in.
From the sad to the odd to the ludicrous and strange; the Agony Aunt trend has given voice to both touching tales of woe and some really bizarre crap.
But what of the genuine needs met and connections made that the Agony Aunt can serve and highlight about the human desire to advise and seek advice?
Note to Self is an ensemble devised production that will bring togethor the great hearts and minds of the public with the talented juices of the creative team through verbatim interviews and archived Agony Aunt letters.
Through this what we hope to conceive will be an original piece of work that will be unique for everyone involved; cast, crew and audience.
For as a great man* once said, "...the other option is to cut your ex's face, and then no one will want her"
*This man isn't great, it was Danny Dyer.
Note to Self is our Rehearsal Room show for the Autumn term 2010.
