Geoff Williams is The Student Workshop's Staff/Student Representative for the academic year 2011-2012.
His job is to represent the staff and students making sure that all their comments are heard and communicated to the faculty within the Drama Department. This role is achieved whilst attending Staff/Student Committee meetings throughout the year.
Each year group and subject combination will have at least one representative that attends the Staff/Student Committee meetings. These students will work closely alongside Mica throughout the year to continue making sure that Royal Holloway's renowned Drama Department progresses in quality and with its students in mind constantly. Students can speak to any Staff/Student Representatives all of which have email addresses that are posted in the green room
The Staff/Student Committee meetings occur at least once every term and are attended by lecturers and student representatives, providing an invaluable forum for discussion between staff and students about issues affecting their academic lives at Royal Holloway. Minutes from every meeting are emailed to all Drama students, as well as posted on Facebook and displayed in the green room.
This is where you can play a crucial part. If you are a member of the department and The Student Workshop, the Staff/Student Committee will be looking for passionate individuals to represent their peers at the start of each academic year, so if you’re outgoing and with a passion for getting involved then why not be a Staff/Student Committee Rep? Not only will you play a crucial role in the running of Royal Holloway's drama department, but it will look great on your CV and you will also receive a written reference from the Head of the Department.
If you have any questions about what the role entails then feel free to contact Mica via her email address or find her within the department!
There is also the comments box in the Green Room, which is confidential and checked regularly by Charlotte. Remember that Geoff's job is to represent you. If at any point you want to discuss, in complete confidence, a matter that affects you don’t hesitate to contact her to arrange a meeting.
